On Tuesday, April 2 Heather Gossart, Patricia-Weitzel-O’Neill, and Kathleen Quinn offered a NCEA 2013 convention attendees a comprehensive overview of the Innovation Institute for Catholic Educators and it’s inaugural initiative Two-Way Immersion Network (TWIN).
The TWIN initiative’s goal is to provide an educational opportunity and support system of Catholic Schools to build a research-based two way immersion model that delivers academic excellence to culturally linguistically diverse students.

The Institute’s second initiative is focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). At present the institute is gathering information from schools already facilitating STEAM or STEM programs, so as to better determine the appropriate outcomes and expectations.
The Innovation Institute for Catholic Educators is a CACE partnership with Boston College designed to promote the discovery and implementation of transformative strategies to provide optimal experiences for Catholic school students.
The Innovation Institute was launched by NCEA and Boston College in 2012 at the NCEA annual convention in Boston, MA. Learn more about the program.
